Luxury Real Estate Photography In Woodland Hills, CA

I had the opportunity to photograph this gem of a house located right off of Topanga Canyon Blvd, just south of the Top of Topanga Overlook.

As I was setting up my composition for the twilight photograph of the front exterior, a lady in a white Mercedes decided to park right in my shot.  I asked politely for her to consider moving her car, but she explained she was in a big hurry and shouted "sorry" as she jogged into a neighboring house. To frame out the white Mercedes I had to improvise and perched my tripod atop my car...

Without the added height from placing the camera high on top of my car, I would have had to pick a different composition for the this shot.  I'm glad that I still got the shot I had originally envisioned:

The inside of the house was awesome!  It was stylishly staged and had a great feel overall.  This was going to be a fun one!

As it was getting closer to sunset I wanted to take a walk around the backyard to make sure all of the landscape and pool lighting were on and, apparently, I forgot how to door:

The master bedroom of this home had an awesome view of the San Fernando Valley.

This was one of my favorite shots from the whole shoot.

It's always tricky to photograph bathrooms because of all the reflective surfaces.  You have to be careful to avoid having the lights from the flashes showing up in the glass and the mirrors.  Also, I think it's very important to never be able to find your own reflection anywhere.  My brother likes to play "Find Ryan" whenever I show him a new photo set.  He keeps me on my toes and, thankfully, he rarely ever finds me any more.

Real Estate Photography Behind The Scenes Video

Here's my first attempt at shooting a short behind the scenes video of me photographing a house.   I made this video of me unloading my gear and photographing a couple of the bedrooms at a house in Norwalk, CA from earlier this week as a test. I wanted to see how difficult it would be to film a video while I photographed a house. "They" say, along with blogging, that YouTube videos increase your ranking in Google searches so hopefully I'm not embarrassing myself needlessly...
